The purpose of small group ministries [Sunday School, Home Bible Studies, cell groups, etc.] is “to transform individuals, churches, and cultures through authentic Christian community.”

We want to partner with you and your church to develop or strengthen your small group ministry.  Let us help you analyze your small group needs (open group, closed group, ministry team), aid you as you and your leaders develop a small group strategy for your church, and help you train your small group leaders.

Contact us at (810)-714-1907 or smallgroupministry@bscm.org.

QUOTES

“The small group was an essential structure for early Christianity” (George G. Hunter III, Church for the Unchurched, p. 83).

“ … the chief agents in the expansion of Christianity appear not to have been those who made it a profession or made it a major part of their occupation, but men and women who carried on their livelihood in some purely secular manner and spoke of their faith to those they met in this natural fashion” (Scott Latourette, The First Five Centuries, p. 117).

“One of the most important methods of spreading the gospel in antiquity was by the use of homes” (Michael Green, Evangelism in the Early Church, p. 250).

But can this same rationale apply to our world today?

Josh Hunt has observed: “People will say ‘no’ to our theology but ‘yes’ to our ice cream.”  I would add, they will say “no” to our church buildings but “yes” to our family room or our deck.
