The Evangelism Ministries Team of the Baptist State Convention of Michigan assists Michigan Southern Baptist Churches and Associations in equipping and inspiring the people to fulfill the Great Commission by providing quality materials and other resources, training, strategies, and prayer support to the end that all the lost of Michigan would be reached with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in our generation.
OUR FIELD
- 9.8 Million people live in Michigan making it the 8th largest populated state in the United States.
- 30% or over 2.9 million of the people live in multi-housing communities and over 90% of these people do not attend church no matter what their background.
- About 1.5 million are African-American. Over 900 thousand African Americans live in Detroit making it the largest City with an African American majority.
- Over 100 different language groups live in Michigan.
- There are 21 counties in Michigan without any Southern Baptist witness.
