In our last Executive Committee meeting, it was determined that we should consider a part time contract position of Diversity Ambassador. This pastor/leader would work directly with me to help keep us informed and connected with our minority churches within our convention. Resumes may be sent via email to Jamie@bscm.org. The deadline to receive resumes is January 31st.
If you know of an involved and committed BSCM minority pastor/leader that is part of a cooperating SBC church and understands well ethnic and diversity issues that you would like to recommend, please email that information to Jamie@bscm.org as well.

DIVERSITY MINISTRY AMBASSADOR
Job Description
SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED BY CONSULTANT

Serve as Diversity Ministry Ambassador for the Baptist State Convention of Michigan as directed by Timothy Patterson, BSCM Executive Director

Connect with all Ethnic Pastors in the BSCM Mission field.

Encourage pastors in their ministry settings across Michigan and express our appreciation for them.

Share our 500 by 2025 vision with pastors and challenge them to join the movement.

Point pastors to resources that are available, especially on our website and in the Baptist Beacon and other SBC resources.

Explain the Cooperative Program and the power of our partnership to advance God’s Kingdom together and demonstrate the various methods used to contribute.

Communicate needs or concerns to the Executive Director.

Submit a monthly written report to the Executive Director detailing what contacts have been made, with whom and outcome.

Attend the following events:
– Annual Baptist State Convention of Michigan
– Associational meetings
–. Other events as requested by the Executive Director
COMPENSATION FOR SERVICES AND HOURS WORKED

Reimburse up to $2,400 per year for travel expenses. (These will be submitted with IRS acceptable documentation for reimbursement.)

Compensation of $800 per month for services rendered for a maximum of $9,600 per year.
