Board of Trustees Application
By submitting this application, you are asking to be considered to serve on one of our state convention teams. Your application will be presented to the Executive Committee and Board of Trustees at its next scheduled meeting. You will be notified of the decision of these bodies within 10 days of the meeting.
You may potentially serve on one of five (5) teams:

Church Sending (Evangelism & Missions)

Bambi Lake Advisory Team

Michigan Southern Baptist Foundation
If you are willing to be considered for one of these teams, please review the following criteria and the specific information for each area of service. Please select ONE or MORE areas.
Once you have prayerfully considered the area(s) where you could passionately serve best, complete your contact information and the reply section for each area selected. Only complete the area(s) where you feel led to be available for service.
Your application to serve is not an assurance that you will be selected to serve at this time. It is an acknowledgement that you are willing to serve.
Mission-Action Teams:

Purpose: The Mission-Action Teams will be empowered to help the Convention fulfill its stated vision and mission. The Mission-Action Teams will reflect the three (3) priorities of the BSCM mission statement: church starting, church strengthening and church sending.

Membership: These individuals should display a passion for church starting, strengthening, or sending.

Eligibility: Members of teams must have been a member of a cooperating church, as defined by our bylaws, for at least one (1) year. No person, or their spouse, who is an employee of the Convention, or any other Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) entity, will be eligible for membership in this body (an employee is defined as any person who receives a W-2 from the Convention or any SBC entity.)
Church Starting Team:
The Church Starting Team will work to resource churches in developing strategies, aligning
partners, recruiting and assessing church starters for new churches. This team will join the
shared responsibility of mobilizing churches for this Kingdom task. The team will give assistance
to the work of the State Director of Missions.
Church Strengthening Team:
The Church Strengthening Team will work to resource churches in developing Kingdom oriented
leaders and workers. They are tasked to be resource brokers for leadership development and
the training and equipping needs of our churches. The team will give assistance to the work of
the State Director of Evangelism.
Church Sending Team:
The Church Sending Team will work to resource churches in evangelism and missions, raising
the awareness of our cooperative work through education and involvement. They will resource
churches to be Acts 1:8 congregations to engage their community, state, nation and world with
the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Church Sending Team will help to develop healthy partnerships
for advancing God’s Kingdom. Further, they will give assistance to the work of the State
Director of Evangelism.
Bambi Lake Advisory Team:

Purpose: The Bambi Lake Advisory Team will give oversight to the ministry of the camp in collaboration with the Lead Missionary/Executive Director and the camp manager.

Membership: These individuals should display a passion for the retreat and conference ministry of the camp.

Eligibility: Members of teams must have been a member of a cooperating church, as defined by our bylaws, for at least one (1) year. No person, or their spouse, who is an employee of the Convention, or any other Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) entity, will be eligible for membership in this body (an employee is defined as any person who receives a W-2 from the Convention or any SBC entity).
Baptist Foundation of Michigan Trustee:

General Information: The Convention will relate to the Foundation in accordance with the governing documents of each organization. The Convention will have power to elect such trustees as may be necessary for the handling of the affairs of the Foundation. The term of service for trustee members will be three (3) years. Members are eligible for two (2) successive terms.

Membership: These individuals should display a passion for the ministry of the foundation.

Eligibility: Members of teams must have been a member of a cooperating church, as defined by our bylaws, for at least one (1) year. No person, or their spouse, who is an employee of the Convention, or any other Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) entity, will be eligible for membership in this body (an employee is defined as any person who receives a W-2 from the Convention or any SBC entity).
